It is very important to use a doctor recommended
medication to end your outbreak. The following are
additional steps that you should take to effectively eliminate
your lice infestation. For more information on R&C
products, please click here.
1. Any children infested with lice should be kept home
until treatment is complete. You should also notify the
child's school as lice infestations are highly contagious and
could easily spread to other children.
2. All clothing that has recently been worn, and any
towels and bedding should be washed in very hot water or
dry-cleaned. For items that cannot be washed or
dry-cleaned, such as furniture, please see R&C
Spray.
3. You may also sterilize other items such as stuff
animals and other small unwashable items by placing them in
sealed plastic bags for 14 days. Any lice eggs (nits) will
hatch in roughly a week and eventually die of starvation.
4. Hair care items, such as brushes, combs, hair clips,
etc., can be disinfected by soaking them in hot soapy water for
10 minutes. |
